  2. Once connected, make sure to run the IP address 192.168.2.1 in the search bar of your browser. 
  3. The login Belkin page will pop up now. 
  4. There is no default username, so let it stay empty, and the default password is admin. 
  5. Enter the detail given in step six.

How to set up Belkin AC1200 range extender?

Here are the ways how one can set up the Belkin wifi range extender ac1200. There are two basic ways; one is through the Software CD that came with your range extender and the second option is obviously web-based.

We are hoping you have the CD kept input that came with the extender because we need it now. 

  1. Unplug the Belkin range extender and home router from electrical sockets.
  2. Grab the Ethernet cable. Establish the connection between your home router/modem and range extender Belkin ac1200.
  3. Now, plug the router and extender in the power sockets. 
  4. Get that box of Belkin router range extender because there is a password and username written on the back of it for your network login. 
  5. Run the CD in your system. 
  6. As you run the CD, the CD will automatically open in your operating system. 
  7. A window will pop up on your desktop. 
  8. There is an option called Set Up on that popped-up window. Click on it. 
  9. Now, enter the SSID and password that we collected from the back of Belkin ac1200’s box.
  10. Time to press the option called ‘Next’ mentioned under the SSID.

Follow the given steps, so you may complete the setup of Belkin AC1200 range extender via the web – 

  1. Look for a power source for the range extender and plug it in. 

Connection means –

  • Wired – For wired connection, make sure to connect the range extender to the system with an Ethernet cable.
  • Wireless – For a wireless connection, go to your computer or just take out your phone. 
  1. Go to the wifi connection settings of your device. 
  1. You will see a network named Belkin.setup 
  2. Connect to the network name mentioned in step four. 
  3. SSID’s are mentioned on the back label of the Belkin ac1200 range extender. 
  4. Run the link https://belkin.range/ in the search bar of your device’s browser, or you can also use the default IP address 192.168.2.1
  5. Check box the mentioned two checkboxes on the window that just appeared and click on the button saying ‘Start Setup’ 
  6. The further you may proceed, you will see the wifi networks around you.
  7. Select your wifi address and enter its password. In the case of dual bandwidth, enter the passcodes of both networks. 
  8. Now the extended networks will be named after your home network with a suffix of ‘_Ext’.
  9. Time to customize those networks. You may set up the username, password, and security mode. 
  10. Click on the option called ‘Next’ 
  11. Now you may find the location for your extender. 

Belkin AC1200 Troubleshooting Problems

We will be discussing a couple of scenarios when you’d need to troubleshoot. 

Case 1 – No Internet Connection on Computer (Wireless and Wired)

Unplug the modem, system, and extender from the power source. Then restart all the devices establish the connection when the LED indicators stabilize themselves. If still there’s no connection – contact the internet service provider.

Case 2 – No Internet Connection on Wired Systems

Check for the LED indicators and ensure a well-established connection through LED lights. 

Case 3 – No Internet Connection on Wireless Systems 

Check for Network Security option IP settings and re-confirm if the connection is well-established

Case 4 – Can’t connect to wifi 

Check if you are connected to the correct network and check the password too. 

Couple more troubleshooting issue

Case 5 – Slow Internet 

Check the distance between the home router and Belkin ac1200 range extender. 

Case 6 – Firmware Outdated 

Time to upgrade the firmware, download the firmware from Belkin’s site, and update it by logging into the web portal of the Belkin router. 

Case 7 – Firewall and Antivirus issues
